This is the "Filly......"

Hi !! Nice to meet ya ! My name is Gigi...and yours? Extending hoof, uhm, err, no, HAND, shaking hands........thanks for stopping by !!!

I am (choke) 43 years old, (darn birthdays anyway !), divorced (for about 100 years now), the mother of one son, grown and gone. This is the most recent pic I have......what you see is who I am......

My family consists of my 25 year old son, Jim, his EX-wife Arlene, 3 year old grandbaby Ashley, and my other "babies", a number of cats. I lost my very paranoid schnauzer, Kandi, my baby of 10 years, in 1998. (My Mom blamed all the cats for making her that way !!) The number of freeloaders, err, cats, used to change from week to week, due to my animal rescue activities, but I now have lots of special "inside the house" kitties that are personal pets. I did have more, sadly I lost a good buddy of mine....his name was "Bandit". and I lost another to the same disease.....FeLV........the second loss...I am not even close to dealing with at this time. I have made a half hearted attempt at a page....he was my best buddy.....was always here for me......there is one big empty space in my heart.....for "Chad".... ....and have lost many more since.....my heart aches for my special friends......

My M-F, pays-the-bills job WAS as the "office" for an independent grocery store in Oklahoma, for 13 years, all the book-worm stuff. In my "spare" time at the store, I handled the gourmet coffee and spice sections. I was THEN self-employed, about 6 months, doing accounting & building web pages from home. I then had a dream job for American Airlines, first as a fuel accountant for Canadian Airlines; then I worked on the AA / Dell Computer Employee Purchase Program.
Well, as the story goes, now, I've moved halfway across the country, and I now work in accounts payable for Dekens Implements, with a bunch of great people who teach me all the stuff I've forgotten about my farming roots over the years :)

My second, gravy, job, is at home. I do online genealogy research and enter census data for UsGenWeb.

My THIRD job is still building web pages, both independently, and as a partner with Web Alaska. You can see some of our work by clicking on the "Designs Of Destiny" logo at the bottom of every page here.

Oh, yeah, I have a FOURTH job too, that is increasingly taking up my time. Two years ago, I revived my leathercraft business of 25 years -- I sell stuff on E-Bay and direct under the trade name "LeatherMaid" and the E-bay ID sleeknsassy . I used to be also on call for my animal rescue work 1-2 days/week. Our local group was entirely staffed by volunteers, working under close adherance to the guidelines of E.A.R.S, U.A.N., Alley Cat Allies, and Friends of Felines, while coordinating and performing rescues and relocations of all kinds of kritters......2-legged, 4-legged, and some with no legs at all. Speaking of animal rescue , see what has happened with some relocated wolves.....several wonderful links on my links page.....

The lives of my family were torn by cancer the spring of 1997......the battle ended 7/24/98...the process of rebuilding is very hard, but the memories are very strong....My Father was a wonderful man....he was fascinated by and wanted to learn about computers....he just realized it too late.....If you know anyone in the same situation.....there is a link on the links page.......a place to start to learn and understand anyway.....

Whew, taking a breath........

What do I like to do in my spare time? (WHAT SPARE TIME?) Well, in the summer, I play tournament disc golf (frisbee), camp, canoe, kayak, work on my yard landscaping schemes that I dream up in the winter time, horseback riding, of course, and play the ponies at the local track. In the winter, the genealogy research, tax returns, dream of summer, and CHAT, CHAT, CHAT on this computer !!

I like: Long walks for two holding hands, thunderstorms and rainy nights for two on the couch, the satisfaction of doing a job well, horses, dogs, cats, pizza, lobster, and steak grilled on a warm summer's eve.

My dislikes: Pushy people, crowds, insensitive people, mosquitos.

My favorite music is country (what else IS there?), but as I "play" at writing, I listen to all kinds to keep up.....except rap, sorry, 'Filly don't DO no rap. Laughing. A Rapping Filly? I don't THINK so !!

With my son raised and moved away, I now find my attentions and talents directed more and more away from home. I would like to travel, I drove to California in late July / early August, (took some neat pictures on the way), and we recently made a "hurry-up" trip to Michigan over a weekend.....took some beautiful pics there as well. Mom & I made the "trip of a lifetime" to Alaska in 2000. I like to learn new things, help any and everything that needs help. I am working on two home businesses at this time..........to help me achieve those goals. Of couse, another goal is to win that $10 Million dollar sweepstakes..........and either move to Australia or back to Idaho.........Someday.....

Special thanks go to all my friends who put up with me while building this page, their infinite patience, wisdom and humor.......and understanding....... To Teddy B.......a special squeezy hug to one special Teddy Bear......to Starman, for your beautiful words..... To one who does not wish to be named......another hug.....for the quote. To Mark Chryson, for the northern lights background on this page.........to that krazy kriter.......if not for you.....I wouldn't know a keyboard from a surfboard....THANK YOU for the start...... And to an old friend, who is no longer wishes his name here..........thanks for the humor, insight, and the "Indoor Slip 'N Slide" idea, sounds interesting, to say the least.......You keep me ROTF !!
